BEARD n Elizabeth Johnston Beard, 88, Olive Branch, died April 25, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis. Member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church. Survived by children, Tommy Lafever, Rome, Ga.; and Betty Hollowell, Olive Branch; brother, Dr. Joseph E. Johnston, Mt. Olive, Miss.; sister, Sue Thames, Biloxi, Miss.; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 28 at Brantley Funeral Home, Olive Branch. Graveside services followed at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Memorial gifts may be made to Maples Memorial United Methodist Church.
